Psychedelic Association of Arizona Leadership

President

Josh graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in psychology. For the next four years he worked in Arizona’s SMI system (serious mental illness) at direct care clinics. At night, he worked at the county crisis line. Frustrated by the state of care, he went to law school, while working the county crisis line his final two years there. He is now the only attorney in Arizona with a practice 100% devoted to mental health.

He represents psychiatric hospital systems and stand-alones, psychiatrists and psychologists in front of their boards and consults in building their practices, outpatient clinics, and families fighting insurance companies for mental health care. Alongside his practice is his advocacy work. He was the Chair of Mental Health of America of Arizona for two years, has been the first and only President of the Association for the Chronically Mentally Ill, is the former Chair of the State Bar Mental Health section, is Co-Chair of the Maricopa County Independent Oversight Committee, is a board member of the Columbia University Council on Global MH, and is the founder and President of the Psychedelic Association of Arizona. Recognizing his work, ASU Law selected Josh as the 2020 alumni of the year.
